This was the first project we had for Daniel and it was to create our CV which we would be sending out to employers this semester and the following one too, for placement. This seemed like a daunting project as a CV is the first thing employers will see about us and they have to be good and engaging with little to no design on them. They also tell your employer everything about you but, they need to be concise and simple to make sure you’re not boring anyone with too much writing. There is a lot of factors that come into play when creating a CV and it is difficult to create a well-balanced one but with that being said we started to create ours right at the beginning of week 1.

CV Content

I began by writing down everything I needed to include in my CV. This included a bio about myself detailing my professional interest and qualities. I also made a list of my skills, work experience (with dates) and education to date.

My name is Lucy Knox and I am a full time student at Ulster University and am in my 2nd year at Interaction Design. I have a love for design and film from my creative media classes back in school where I was able to work on both visual design and the film industry and this interest in design then led me to the course I’m currently studying. Within my course I have found that I have become more creative with trying out new and styles and techniques that would have originally been out of my comfort zone but it has shown me how adaptable I have become with my work. Looking back at any of my previous work experience I have always seen myself as hard-working and motivated for example my job as a bartender always had me working long and late hours, under pressure to serve out drinks at a quick pace while maintaining top quality customer service to over 200 customers a night. I also enjoy talking to multiple customers either one-on-one or in larger crowds for example, in my current job I am a tour guide and in each shift we do speeches to large crowds welcoming them to the tour. As well as when being on the tour, having one-to-one conversations with lots of customers talking sets, filming, props and all things Game of Thrones.
